He’s now backing Kamala Harris at the DNC
By his own admission, Rich Logis was an ardent supporter of Donald Trump just a few short years ago.
As a conservative commentator, he authored pieces such as articles and opinion pieces in which he supported the outgoing president and attacked those who opposed him, including President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Last year, in a Newsweek editorial article, Logis recalled helping with Trump’s 2016 campaign and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ 2018 candidacy for the governor’s house.
He stated in the Newsweek article, “For a long time, I sincerely believed in ‘Make America Great Again.” “I persuaded myself that the United States as we knew it would end in the event of a Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden victory.”
Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday
In recent years, his opinions have radically shifted. During a video address at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday, Logis blasted Trump, labeling his prior backing of the outgoing president and the Republican contender for president in 2024 as a “serious error” and promoting Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign for the presidency.
Logis claimed that he began to doubt Trump’s leadership because of the way the past president handled the COVID-19 epidemic.
“We needed leadership when the pandemic hit, but we got almost nothing,” stated Florida resident Logis, who was appointed co-chair of the Republicans for Harris in Florida organization earlier this month. “It was a serious betrayal of the nation.”
“I finally stepped outside the MAGA echo chamber, I stopped listening to what Trump said and looked around with my own eyes,” he continued at that point. And that’s when I discovered he had been lying about almost everything.
The DNC is to convince Republicans and right-leaning independents
The goal of Harris’ campaign and the DNC is to convince Republicans and right-leaning independents who are fed up with Trump and the current GOP to vote Harris instead of the former president by showcasing someone who once supported Trump, like Logis.
There have been several well-known Republican defectors, despite the fact that surveys indicate that the majority of Republican voters still support Trump. Later this week, former Illinois U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger, a Republican, is scheduled to address the Democrats’ convention in addition to Logis. Tuesday night’s convention programming will be hosted by Republican pundit Ana Navarro, a seasoned opponent of President Trump who co-hosts ABC’s “The View.”
While many Republican voters would be reluctant to support a Democrat like Harris, Logis noted in his Monday night video remarks that “you don’t need to agree with everything you hear tonight to do what is right.”
“Our leaders must be trustworthy,” stated Logis. “For that reason, I fully support Kamala Harris.”
in short About DNC in Chicago on Monday
Rich Logis, a conservative pundit, once defended Donald Trump and attacked his critics and political rivals. He recalled volunteering for Trump’s 2016 campaign and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2018 bid for governor. Logis believed in ‘Make America Great Again’ and believed a victory for Clinton or Biden represented the end of the US.
In a recent video, Florida resident and co-chair of the Republican for Kamala Harris in Florida, Logis criticizes Trump’s past support for the former president and 2024 Republican nominee, calling it a “grave mistake” and endorsing Harris’ White House bid. Logis believes Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a betrayal to the country and a realization of his lies. Harris’ campaign aims to persuade disillusioned Republicans and right-leaning independents.
